Okay. So from what you gathered from my last entry the computer was ebign a right royal pain in the ass. Yeah. You gathered right.

Well a few days after I made that entry my screen blew a fuse (we assume - I came out of the shower and found the screen dead) and I was stranded for a week without my computer, in effect, because who can work a computer without the moniter?
I wasn't too phased, just a little annoyed, then a cunning happiness creeps in. I know that it'll cost as much as buying a new screen to repair this darn thing. Dad wants to get a flatscreen - and this thing's like a mini television - yeah, one of them old school PC screens.
Exactly a week after the episode we dragged out my oooooold screen from my oooooold Windows 95. Both those things are nearly as old as I am. Well the screen ... functioned, shall we say? I received a green tinge to all things viewed on it, but hey, it worked.

Come Satruday: dad insists we get me a flatscreen. So we drag mum around four/five shops to get one.

So now I'm sitting in front of a handsome Acer 19" flatscreen.

So the computer is still here with us, but since the screen was installed it has behaved. Perhaps because I have learned that it is far too old to be doing so many things at once, and have cut down on the amout of operating programs at any one time.

And ... um ... yeah. Happy Mother's Day, mums!
